Wishes Aren’t Horses…

Is it possible to long for a change in your life’s current state without thinking about growth? Or development?

Imagine a man who doesn’t have a job and all he has are really strong desires to be a part of the working class citizens of the nation who earn in six digits. He doesn’t apply for jobs, doesn’t relate with his circle about his current need, and doesn’t take free courses or learn soft or hard skills while waiting. What would you say about such a man?

The way of the sluggard is overgrown with thorns [it pricks, lacerates, and entangles him], but the way of the righteous is plain and raised like a highway.

Proverbs 15:19 (AMP)

A quote I recently came across by Oprah Winfrey says “We can’t become what we need to be by remaining what we are.”

This shows that there’s a required input for you to become who you need and also to get everything you need. What are you doing about the changes you desire to see?

[10] Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to lie down and sleep--
[11] So will your poverty come like a robber or one who travels [with slowly but surely approaching steps] and your want like an armed man [making you helpless].

Proverbs 6:10-11 (AMP)

As the year slowly wraps up, it is time for you to take note of those plans you had but did nothing about, and then do all you can to execute them in 2023. Of what use are ideas or plans without concrete execution? What’s the essence of always wishing without working?

I’m sure you’re wondering if I mean that wishes don’t sometime come true – well, they do. But it rarely happens. Take your desires and wishes a step further by taking those necessary actions. Remember, wishes aren’t Horses!

“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you...”

Luke 11:9 (NLT)
