The things of God sometimes require that we undergo rigorous training in and consistent practicing of them, so that we can eventually become better at living them out. Divine direction is one of such things.
A man’s heart deviseth his way, but the Lord directeth his steps.
Proverbs 16:9 (KJV)

People argue whether God leads and directs, and oftentimes, they write off divine leadings, choosing instead to judged based on what they see. Consequently, they attempt to use their own past and current experiences to presume the future, often misleading themselves.
However, I have encountered people whose challenges and life experiences have shaped their mindsets to come to the conclusion that true fulfilment and success is found only in faithful following of God’s divine direction.
Naturally, we humans desire to know what to and when to do it – basically to be led divinely – and we desire successful lives but it is only those who humble themselves to search out the mind of God that are led by the Holy Spirit and get to truly experience such lives.
Cogent revelations from God in His Word and by His Spirit, and through the vessels He uses (such as spiritual leaders) is the best way to experience divine direction.
Who knows best the mind of God for a person except God Himself?
And the Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones, You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
Isaiah 68:11 (KJV)
Divine direction is not a problem for those who have made it a habit to always seek God first and let Him decide for them on all issues.
