The Resurrection.

All over the World, Easter is an acknowledged season of celebration.

It’s a season where we ponder the significance of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus after his crucifixion on the cross. A crucifixion where our sins were borne by the Christ to free us from the penalty and guilt of Sin, and to prepare a place in heaven for all who accept Him.

Jesus Christ’s resurrection demonstrates His finished work of redemption and reminds us that His power over death has brought and will bring us to glory.

[24] He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
[25] For, you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

1 Peter 2:24–25 (NIV)

The celebration of His resurrection, both in this season and afterwards, ought to be associated with the Gospel, specifically preaching and making known to everyone the greatest display of love to ever exist, that which Christ did on the cross for all of us.

We also need to constantly encourage ourselves, knowing full well from the Scriptures that Jesus is coming again. He is getting the ultimate resting place ready for those who have chosen His path and He is interceding for us until we get to where He is seated beside the Father.

[3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

[4] to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.

1 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV)

What peace to know that we don’t have to worry about what we might have to face when He comes back to take us to where He has prepared for us in Heaven! A place where there will be no worries, no famine, no accidents, no sickness nor sorrow nor pain.

This is the result of His resurrection. This is why we celebrate Easter.
