He Made The Stars Also

A couple of days ago, I stumbled on a documentary that detailed the importance of electromagnetism in our universe. I’d known about the importance of gravity, but electromagnetism? That was a new one. So I continued watching.

The show did an incredible job of describing the complex interplay of gravity, angular momentum, and magnetism in the formation of our stars. As I watched, I couldn’t help but think about how the Bible says God made the stars:

“…He made the stars also.”

(Genesis 1:16c, KJV)

Just like that. All of those billions of stars you see when you look at the night sky, their lights kept on by an intricate and delicate balance of powerful forces; yet the Bible describes their making almost like an after-thought. And all of these creation processes were set in motion by God speaking things into existence.

“It is by faith that we understand that the universe was created by God’s word, so that what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen.”

(Hebrews 11:3, GNT)

It’s difficult for the average mind to understand just how big our universe is, talk less of the Power that set everything into motion. Yet, God spoke and out of nothing came something: God spoke and the lights of the universe (our sun included) came on.

It’s the same God that speaks to us today (Hebrews 1:1-2). I bet He looks at us funny when He speaks and humans (you and I) respond with unbelief. Has God spoken and will He not do it? (Isaiah 46:11). When God speaks and declares you righteous, do you think there’s no power working behind that word to bring it into reality?

Whatever God has spoken to you or concerning you, the tremendous power that brought the universe into existence, is ready to bring that word into reality. It then boils down a matter of our faith. Will you by faith understand that God’s word will work? Will you by faith hold on to His word until you see it in the flesh?

“…Lord, I believe! [Constantly] help my weakness of faith!”

(Mark 9:24b, AMPC)

Don’t bog your mind with the intricacies of how God will perform His Word. He will perform it! That’s what you must hold on to and believe.
