Our World Today

The world we live in is a world of systems. These systems are there to deliver certain outcomes, such that if we desire certain outcomes, then we set in place the systems that will bring about those outcomes.

We all function within the context of these systems, as protagonists or antagonists, as willing or undiscerning participants, as consumers or opposers, there are no fences, there is no middle ground.

1 John 5: 19
We know that we are from God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.

We see here Apostle John drawing a distinction. There is a “we”, who he says are from God, and by extension under his control, and there is the “whole world” which he says lie in the control of the evil one.

These systems are the creations of two kingdoms, two sides, two powers. Not equals but distinct and opposing. It is not difficult to distinguish them. They are quite clear about their mandates and their means.

It is either Light or Darkness, Truth or Falsehood. The Glorious liberty of the saints or the yoke of bondage, Righteousness or Unrighteousness, submisson to God or rebellion, and on and on.

The goal of these systems is to create a people, a context that will foster its relevance and perpetuate its goals and outcome. To do that, no strata, space or spares. All men are in view. But I have seen that children are especially sought out for, the reason is obvious, they hold the key to the next generation. Whoever gains them, gains a generation.

for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
KJV

This text must catch our attention because regardless of how we choose to see it, we can’t avoid the alarm it raises. At the very least it tells us that an individual named Herod is after a young child for the sole purpose of destroying him. Tragic.

But is that not the world we live in today, where young children, brimming with potentials and possibilities are at the mercy of a system of wickedness embodied by Herod (who was also a king, which speaks of the active role that leaders, play in this enterprise) designed to destroyed them.

From abortion campaigns, to the so-called gender affirming care, transgenderism, and gender identification advocacies, young children are increasingly exposed to a system of thought designed with only one goal in mind: Their Destruction.

Notice it was initially a campaign to destroy them in the womb, when that lost traction, the Herodian system increased the scope to capture those who ‘escaped’ abortion.

So, dearly beloved, which kingdom are you rooting for? To whom have you pledged your allegiances? There are only two sides. To say you belong to God and yet be a protagonist for the opposition, is simply confusion. Make up your mind today.
