An incident happened recently to a beautiful lady who I know to be grounded in God’s word, and excellent in her vocation. She has had it difficult for some time now, and she has had to let an important opportunity go and start a new life that grants her peace.
People kept telling her that what she had done was wrong, whereas, she told me privately, that the decision was the best she had made so far. She was about to give in to the pressure of people, but she was guided by God’s leadership and directions.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Jeremiah 29:11(KJV)
We live in a world where everyone has an opinion. Some may scrutinize or criticize you for the decisions you have made. Either right or wrong. An experience you might have had is the scrutiny of others, and their eventual submission that they decision you made was in order. Sometimes, our decision making process depend on our personal life experiences, the nature and degree of responsibility placed on our shoulders, and the nature of opinions and counsels around us. This is a sensitive part because the same people whose tune you had danced to, can invariably be the first to cast stones when things go side ways.
You are a major factor in the decision making and you have the responsibility of making the best decisions about your life. The decision could be right or wrong, but be clear in your mind that, regardless of the outcome, you are going to be a primary recipient of the outcome.
You mustn’t be clouded and pressured by “people”, but rather think deeply about what decisions are consistent with your desired outcomes. You must give pre-eminence to God and allow his will and counsel to reign in you and not “people”. It all depends on YOU, so what is it going to be? Will you yield to God’s counsel or the chatter of people around?
Ultimately, it is not about what others want or say, it is about you and what God has in plan for you.
Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Psalm 37:4(KJV)
