Abba’s Nature

Few days ago, I was present in a place where the conversation was centered around the importance of being consistent and how it yields high results, both short and long term.

Consistency in that context relates to the frequency at which you do something, especially work related, but has it ever crossed your mind that it applies to every part of your life?

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV)

From how you continue to stay solid in your Christian faith and values, to how you choose to evolve in your career or business consistency occupies a huge space – even in the decision you make to always show up for your family and friends. I made another discovery recently about consistency and I’ll share with you;

I was thinking to myself, “Why would anyone expect me to have a certain attitude everytime? Is that even possible?”

Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel.

Philippians 1:27 (NKJV)

You see, the average person who knows me knows that I have a generally cheerful and lively personality. Still, have there been days when I don’t want to be in that element? A big Yes. Have there been times that I have tried to be someone I’m not? Yes!

However, one lesson I had to learn was that I have to be consistent even in my attitude, whether I felt up to it or not. There’s something it does to people’s minds when they don’t know what version of you they are going to meet each time they encounter you.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Hebrews 13:8 (KJV)

Our God is a consistent God by nature. Every word He spoke at different points in the scripture came to pass, regardless of the timeframe. As His child, you should actively work towards operating in His nature of consistency, amongst other qualities.

As the world evolves daily, distractions are everywhere and it will be of vital advantage for you to be steadfast, firm and consistent. Yes, you can!
