Would you trust your Father even after finding out he may not have the best ‘intentions’ for your life?
[1] Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”
[2] Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”
Genesis 22:1-2 (NKJV)

One thing I urge you to be intentional about this year in your Bible study moments is putting yourself in the situations you read.
Now imagine this: Isaac was the child who represented Abraham and Sarah’s twenty-five years of waiting after the promise God made, an evidence of God’s time being the best. Isaac was the child of their old age and so they loved him! Imagine the measure of love they had and must have shown for God to have said “Your ONLY son Isaac, whom you LOVE.”
While studying Genesis 22, I thought to myself, God knew it was a test but Abraham didn’t know.
So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.
Genesis 22:3 (NKJV)
Guess what? Abraham never hesitated or said anything negative back to God.
He didn’t think twice or even negotiate with God despite being unaware that it was a test of his faith and obedience. He took action immediately and believed in his heart that God would provide a sacrificial lamb. What manner of trust could that be?
What instruction(s) have you been delaying your obedience on? What is that ‘thing’ you love so much but God needs you to let go of? Do you trust God to always have a better plan?
There are times in life when you think what you have in your possession is the best thing ever but, God being God, He knows there’s something better and He doesn’t want you to settle for less. Trust is a very vital element in the faith process because can you have faith in someone you don’t trust?
[9] Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.
[10] And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
Genesis 22:9-10 (NKJV)
Now to Isaac: It’s obvious how much Isaac trusted his Father Abraham even at the point of death! Or else, who stays still while getting tied with ropes and waits for his Father’s knife to slay him?
Isaac trusted his Father even to the point of death and didn’t throw tantrums or run away even after discovering he was the sacrifice. 😱
The year 2024 is a year where your trust and confidence in God should be dauntless. Trust Him when everything is rosy, trust Him when you don’t feel up to it, trust Him even in the deadliest of situations.
There’s peace, rest and blessings attached to trusting God. Imagine the joy in God’s heart when Abraham passed the great test of Faith. This qualified Him to be called ‘The Friend of God’, alongside the numerous blessings that came afterwards.
[16] and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son—
[17] blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.
[18] In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.
Genesis 22:16-18 (NKJV)
Cheers to a year of DAUNTLESS Trust! ❤️
