The Greatest Strategy

I recently discovered that the concept behind ‘Trying hard’ is personal to individuals. What I mean is this. For someone coming from a place where putting in 100% effort into something is totally new, as long as there’s effort; no matter the percent, this person feels like he has tried and deserves a pat on the shoulder.

Ecclesiastes‬ ‭9‬:‭10‬

[10] “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead) where you are going.”

The perspective for someone else coming from a place where it’s either you put in 100% effort or nothing at all is different. For her, 70% might means A to everyone else but without the +, it’s zero. She keeps trying and doesn’t stop until she gets it all, arrives at her desired destination plus more. Until then, she feels like she has tried and deserves a rub on the back. Which of these categories do you fall?

The reality of the current economic situation in this part of the world has pushed out a lot of tension, fear and uncertainty into the minds of people. For some, their resolution is to keep trying and putting in efforts as much as they can muster, however, without the God factor.

Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬

[5] “Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

[6] In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”

What are your strategies to be financially stable this season? What plans have you put in place to ensure the inflated exchange rate or fuel hike doesn’t affect you? It’s okay to have strategies, good to put in all your effort and be hardworking but as a believer, it is a great time to be reminded that there’s no actual strategy that can stand the rest of time without the help of God.

This season is a sensitive one and a key strategy is the state of your mind and it is very critical. What is your mindset about the progressive state of things? Is it that of lack or plenty? Trust or fear? Are you focused on the word of God or the numerous predictions flying around?

Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭18‬-‭19‬

[18] “The Lord knows the days of the blameless, And their inheritance will continue forever.

[19] They will not be ashamed in the time of evil, And in the days of famine they will have plenty and be satisfied.”

‭‭‭(AMP‬‬)

Navigating this season with God steering the wheel of your vehicle is the greatest strategy of all time and as cliche as it may sound, it is critically important to your safe movement in the year 2024. It is time for you to draw closer to God and work with the Holy Spirit beyond all limitations and shortcomings. It is your year to flourish. Shalom!
