The cross is a symbol of the ultimate sacrifice made by the perfect man (Jesus) for this sinful world before our righteous Father (God) to satisfy the demands of divine justice and to display divine love.
The message of the cross is that Jesus Christ took that shameful journey to be crucified in Jerusalem, to pay the price for our Sin, so that humanity could be forgiven and saved through God’s grace.

God shower His the sacrificial love by granting forgiveness to all humanity, but also showed His justice by ensuring the price for sin been paid. The cross speaks to the full journey for the one who believes in Jesus, not only to its beginning. It is a reminder of how we should live in humility and submission to God.
In associating with the cross as believers, we need to embrace that self-sacrificing lifestyle Jesus did, where we choose submitting to God’s will above our own desires. One cannot please God except they choose to live like Jesus did by surrendering to God with faith and doing His will above all.
The cross assures us of salvation and instructs us about submission to God’s will. It is the gate through which we transcend from an old life of sin into a new life of righteousness.
Variably, we know that Jesus did not only die on the cross, He also rose from the grave three days later. Therefore, when we believe Jesus died for our sins, we have likewise also died with Him, abandoning our old way of life and embracing a new God kind of life (Zoe).
Hereby perceive we the love [of God], because he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren.
1 John 3:16 (KJV)
How can you be more like Jesus in sacrificial love? Can you put others’ needs before yours? Can you prioritize God’s instructions above your desires? Will you obey Him no matter the cost? We see Jesus set aside His glory and humble Himself to do what God wanted. What would you have done if it were you?
The Apostle Paul says;
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
Galatians 6:14 (KJV)
The cross is central, not only to our acceptance of the gospel, but also to practicing that faith in every aspect of our lives.
Dear all, reflect what the cross of Jesus means.
