Take it All to Him in Prayer
What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer!

In the book of Mark 4:1-20, Jesus gave the Parable of the Sower. He painted scenarios of what can happen when we sow seeds in different types of soil. This typifies the state(s) of our hearts when we receive the Word of God.
In Mark 4:18-19, Jesus describes the seeds that fell among thorns; the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
When issues come up like mountains or deep valleys, we must not be carried away by them. As needs arise, as we are faced with daily challenges, bills to be paid, and security issues, we must steward every word we have received letting go of every distraction and thing that can choke the word of God.
How can you remain unshakable even amid diverse shakings?
One way to enjoy peace amidst chaos is to take everything to God in prayer: We are admonished in Philippians 4:6-7 to take everything to God in prayer.
The hymnal above explains it all. As you continue in the year, as the year unfolds itself with its unique opportunities and challenges, I want you to take to heart this hymn, to take everything to God in prayer.
Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell Him every detail of your life, then His wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ. (Philippians 4:6-7; TPT).
This, my friends, is the antidote to living in peace even amid troubles, chaos and uncertainty. You don’t have to bear the burdens, you don’t have to carry the yoke alone. Take the situation right here and now to the Lord in prayer. As He has promised, He will answer you.
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV)
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
Psalm 34:5 (KJV)
Lean on that true Friend Jesus, you will never be disappointed.
