Modelling God.

[27] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

[28] And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion

Genesis 1:27-28 (KJV)

We were not created in the image of God for nothing.

When God created Man in His image, it was so we can fully look like Him in everything. We were created to reign like God on the Earth and show every other creature how He is.

This is why the Man in Christ is regarded as a physical expression of God.

However, a man can be created in God’s image and still not be like God, because he was given the ability to make choices. This is where the devil manipulates many men today.

As the Beloved of God, there is need for us to check our lives; are we living as true Christians, reflecting Christ? What are those right things we are doing that we need to continue? What are the wrong things we are doing that will negatively affect us?

How many of our believes and practices are rooted in traditional practices as opposed to the Word of God?

How much of our worldview is actually conscious or subconscious reactions to the events that we encountered while growing up, as opposed to living in the consciousness of God’s Grace and eternal righteousness – and by extension, our righteousness?

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Romans 8:29 (KJV)

Being human, we cannot model the One we don’t know personally or relate with intimately.

Therefore, in modelling God, we must be true followers of His divine leading. This is why we have the Holy Spirit; to guide and lead us according to the Father’s will and purpose.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Romans 8:14 (KJV)
