It is common to hear people make statements like they’re ‘leaving it in God’s hands’ or that they’re ‘committing’ themselves (or things or situations) ‘into God’s hands’.
This is great, especially when sponsored by deep conviction, rather than being mere statements of last resort after their own fleshly plans have fallen through. Our trust is revealed in whom we commit ourselves or our lives to from the get-go.

But why should we trust God? Why should we commit our very selves ‘into His hands’?
1. He made us and knows how we were formed.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
Psalms 139:14 (KJV)
For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
Psalms 103:14 (KJV)
2. He is merciful and gracious. He is compassionate towards us and takes pity on us as children.
[8] The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
[9] He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
[10] He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
[11] For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
Psalms 103:8-11 (KJV)
Little wonder that He sent His son, Jesus Christ for our redemption, because we could not have saved ourselves except the Lord Himself showed us mercy by His love.
3. His intentions for us are good. His thoughts concerning us are amazing.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
Psalms 139:17 (KJV)
4. He is able to keep [safe and in good condition] all that we commit to Him, even our lives.
For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
2 Timothy 1:12 (KJV)
As believers, we are not exempted from experiencing various pleasant and unpleasant seasons in life. However, there’s no safer guarantee for us- here on earth and in eternity- than with God.
Will you commit yourself into His hands today?
