The Holy Spirit is the greatest gift God has given to us believers but most times, we are oblivious to this fact.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
2 Corinthians 13:14 (NKJV)
Communion, according to the dictionary, means the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially on a mental or spiritual level.
Jesus Christ taught us to break bread and wine as a symbol of the deepest level of communion and intimacy with Him. The way I think of it, the wine of Christ’s love initiates and intoxicates us further into a deeper walk with Him.
The relationship of believers with the Holy Spirit is sweeter than that which you can find in any other relationship. It’s really a ‘sweet’ fellowship, the one with the Holy Spirit. A heady and soothing mix all at the same time (if you can dare to imagine that).
I vividly remember the day I was tired and exhausted from seeing to the spiritual needs of others on campus all through the night and I was dozing in the lecture room. At a point, I felt the Holy Spirit’s presence and His arms literally giving me a comforting embrace.
I woke with a start and looked around me to know and be sure if it was someone around me who had done that, but no one was around or even paying attention to me. That almost unbelievable experience taught me a great lesson on how far the Holy spirit goes to show that He cares for us.
The psalmist paints a similar picture in these verses;
[1] The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
[2] He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
[3] He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
[4] Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
[5] You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
[6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Psalms 23:1-6 (NKJV)
Imagine deciding to dwell in the house of the Lord forever. That can only be when the relationship is sweet. If you visit someone’s house and you’re not comfortable, you’d find your way back home in the soonest time possible.
The fragrance of the Spirit is irresistible for those who will allow themselves to be drawn to his beckoning.
Where your ability ends as a human is where the Holy spirit’s unending capabilities start. When you’re exhausted and have come to the end of yourself, His soothing arm bares you up and carries you. The best part? He never gets tired or exhausted!
When there is great storm or turmoil in your heart and life, there is greater peace in him. For Jesus Himself introduced the Holy Spirit to us as our Comforter.
When your heart is bruised and battered because you have looked for love everywhere – in the right places, in the wrong places, where you are entitled to love and where you are not – and when those you are looking to are too exhausted themselves to have any love to give (or even have the right kind of love to give), His love is the sweetest and rarest (yet freely available) kind you can find.

When confused, he teaches and reminds you of everything you need to know:
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
John 14:26 (NKJV)
He is even readily available to awaken you to daily early morning tutorials on how to mirror His comfort to others around you who need it. Wonderful!
The Lord God has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.
Isaiah 50:4 (NKJV)
The resources and dimensions of this sweet fellowship are vast, unending and inexhaustible, if only we’d tap into it and utilize it.
It is indeed the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God [the Father] and the fellowship of the Holy spirit.
I pray you find that sweet fellowship!
