In Silence

I searched and searched
Waiting for an answer or sign
Of what will become of me

My pillows are drenched
By the unfulfilled desires
As I cried in anguished

My heart groans in pain
Of not hearing or seeing
As I lay in silence

Have you ever prayed and felt like God is not answering? You prayed over and over, and yet nothing happened. You gave your all, trusting God for a breakthrough, still, nothing moved – in fact, things seemed to move backwards.

Hopelessness is locked in your heart with the devil roaring in your ear. Your pillows are soaked with tears as you wait for the testimonies and breakthrough you’re ardently searching for.

You have claimed and confessed the promises, latched on to the covenant made, yet in all, you are met with silence. You are met with mockery as you hear many say, “what will become of you”? Your devotion and service are put in question with nothing to show.

Often time, we may find ourselves going through periods of “silence” where it seems like God is not doing anything, whereas He is working behind the scene as He wants to launch us into greater seasons.

During this period, the devil (knowing that breakthrough is around the corner) comes to test our faith and trust in God, and many succumb to his wiles.

The period of silence is not the time to give up or be hopeless, nor is it a reason to give the devil room; it is the time to press forward, steadfast in devotion and confessing scripture more because a season is about to break forth.

Sure, it won’t be easy, but just continue as you draw strength from God through His word and fellowship with people of like minds. God always comes through, His plan(s) for you remains secure;

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)

David, despite all what he passed through, kept his faith and hope in God:

[5] My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

[6] He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

[7] In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

[8] Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Psalm 62:5-8 (KJV)

Therefore, don’t despair. Trust Him. Wait patiently in His silence, He will come through.

I have listened to you, I heard you request,
I’ve come to tell you that it’s only a test;
just hold on, through your storm, be strong,
just hold on, this test is your storm,
but it won’t be long, go through, hold on”
