Let Him Shine!

When a regular man to thinks of stardom, he thinks of how he will be honoured, known, loved by all and seen as important.

But as believers, even when we wield influence in just a little corner of our family; our focus should always be God seen, God revealed, God glorified.

The truth is that we may not all become celebrities or people of global influence, but we all have influence, no matter how little.

The question is: who does your influence point men to, God or you?

The Bible says;

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Matthew 5:16 (KJV)

When we shine, it must be Jesus shining through us.

Men may see our good conduct, graceful speech, acts of love, forgiveness and show of mercy; but the job is not complete until our light spells JESUS!

Our duty is to “preach Christ” through everything that encapsulates our lives and our being.

We don’t seek to be known, worshipped or idolized, but that through the influence God bestows on us, men are convicted to believe in Him, accept His love and lordship, worship and love Him alone.

Like the faithful servants who traded with their talents and got much more, we trade our gift of influence and affluence to gain more souls.

When you dream of being the best doctor, actress, dancer or footballer ever; dream of Jesus taking the spotlight through you and men coming to His pure light only.

Create a picture of the reality you want and walk towards it, but ensure Jesus is not just part of your dream, but He is at the centre of it. Give Him the stage and stay behind the curtains.

As He shines at the spotlight, you shine even much brighter. In His glorification is your glory sustained, increased, and preserved; spreading to the uttermost parts of the earth.

Not everyone will be famous, but a little spark in one soul influenced by you can influence generations exceeding your lifetime.

Live intentionally. Live to make Jesus seen and known. Turn the light back on Him as much as the world tries to place it on you.

Let God shine. Give Him His glory and take no piece to yourself.
