Have you ever caught yourself jumping right into another request as soon as God meets a need?
Or have you ever received the answer to a prayer and wished it was ‘better’ or that you asked for more?
If your response is a yes, it doesn’t make you a bad person. It only shows the depravity of man.

Man, without the help of the Holy spirit, is ungrateful and never content. He chases the world and all she possesses, neglecting the most important — God and His kingdom.
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
As children of God, we don’t seek God like carnal men do, desiring only His blessings and rejecting His cross. We seek all of Him, starting with His Kingdom.
So when we receive God’s blessings, as true men of the Spirit, we ought to forget the boxes yet to be ticked on our prayer journal and like the Psalmist;
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Psalm 100:4 (NKJV)
Instead of saying,
“But God I asked for triplets and you gave just one child.”
Or
“I prayed for son but you gave me a daughter.”,
Our first response to the goodness and mercies of God should always be thanksgiving.
When God answers your prayers, give Him thanks. Forget about the things yet to be done and focus on His goodness and mercies that He has freely bestowed upon you.
Receive with gratitude!
O give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples.
1 Chronicles 16:8 (AMP)
As long as you live on this side of heaven, you will always have needs, so don’t wait till all your needs are met before you give God thanks.
Thank God for the little, big and great without referencing to the needs still on the way. Leave them be.
Thank God always and for everything.
Stay grateful.
