Over time, I have come to understand that perception, interpretation, and response matter. It is not just what is seen or unseen, but how it is interpreted, that shapes our response and ultimately determines how far we go.

I often ask myself, “What do I see? What can I picture? What is this thing saying to me?”

If what is seen speaks positively, then positivity follows. If what is seen is interpreted negatively, then negativity takes root. There is power in perception, response, and interpretation, and when these are not carefully guided, they can become destructive.

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.

Proverbs 23:7a (KJV)

The state of the heart gives credence to what is perceived. Our way of life, trials, journeys, successes, and failures are influenced by how far we can see, what we choose to see, and what we believe is possible.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)

This teaches us that faith gives form to hope. We may not yet see the outcome, but our hope and faith shape our reality. The evidence is not in what is visible, but in what is believed. Faith gives life to our sight, allowing us to see the truth even before it appears.

So I ask: What do you see? What do you perceive? Are you seeing positivity or negativity? What is the picture before your inner eyes? In this new year, what do you see?

Do you see this year as a season of growth and breakthrough, or one of struggle and pain? Yes, challenges will come, but what will be your response? Will your sight allow these challenges to take root, or see beyond them?

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

2 Corithians 5:7 (KJV)

Don’t be moved by the visibility of what is seen, but by the certainty of what is believed. This year, reshape your sight, perception, and interpretation through His Word.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:17 (KJV)

Hold firmly to the truth, for what you see, believe, and declare will shape your journey.
