The Fix

Have you ever wondered why you get reluctant to fix issues you know should be fixed before they go entirely bad? Sometimes, it could be because you overlook the extent of the problem, while the other times, it could be that you decide to be nonchalant about it. Hard fact? Let’s see.

Recently, I was in a vehicle that was to take me on an interstate vehicle. This journey had happened the previous week and I boarded the vehicle with the same set of people who travelled with it the last time.

Isaiah‬ ‭41‬:‭10‬

[10] Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation.

The journey started very well and the road was favorable until we got to a point on the journey that the vehicle started moving slowly when going uphill. It was at that point I knew something was wrong. The vehicle picked up speed again but soon after, slowed down. Other passengers started asking the Driver what the issue was but he kept convincing everyone that absolutely nothing was wrong.

The woman beside me then mentioned that the same issue happened last week and it was the same vehicle and Driver. I couldn’t hold back an exclamation, all I could do was to pray that we arrived our destination safe and sound as the route had become a bad road filled with trucks.

Psalms‬ ‭51‬:‭17

[17] My [only] sacrifice [acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; A broken and contrite heart [broken with sorrow for sin, thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise.

The journey continued with different conversations going on all at once but all of a sudden, my attention was called to the vehicle again with smoke covering everywhere. Everyone started screaming for the Driver to stop the vehicle, and we all alighted. Eventually, we had to continue the journey with another vehicle entirely.

My focus today is about fixing issues that already have tendencies of blowing up. Imagine how we could have saved time and money if the Driver had fixed his vehicle when it started malfunctioning the previous week?

Psalms‬ ‭51‬:‭10‬-‭11

[10] Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a right and steadfast spirit within me.

[11] Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

‭‭‬(AMP‬‬)

A lot of times, sin doesn’t show up all of a sudden in the lives of believers. There usually would have been a build up, tendencies or habits that weren’t curbed when they gave signs. This is where sensitivity and foresight comes into play, why not pray earnestly about those issues? Those habits that you are aware about? Why not trust God in the place of prayer and fasting for instructions on how to triumph over them?

A man who was dear to the heart of God was David, and this man laid down all his tendencies, sinful desires and actions before God. The Holy Spirit is always in the business of fixing you wherever you need Him to. He only needs you to ask and be open for directions on how to advance. Why not request for a fix today?

Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28

[28] Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation].
