Have you ever been transferred or relocated? Even if it wasn’t the most life-transforming event, you have at least experienced a transfer from one location to another or from one school to another, one place to another etc.
However, the type of transfer I am referring to today is what we experienced when we were born again.
When you are born again (or, when you experience Salvation), God rescues you from the power of darkness and brings you into the kingdom of His Son. This new kingdom is also referred to as the Kingdom of Light.
God’s kingdom is His domain, where He reigns supreme and Jesus Christ is the king. For a kingdom to be in existence, it must have a King, a domain, a constitution, a code of conduct, subjects and its social culture.
One of the key components of God’s Kingdom is faith in the Person of Jesus Christ. You see, we enter into this kingdom by Faith, and we maintain our relationship with God by Faith; this is a journey we will continue and end by faith.
But, while faith is important, it can neither be built nor can it stand alone without the Word of God. Faith to believe God’s Word is the very essence of receiving the promise He says we can have.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Hebrews 4:12 (NLT)
As powerful as the Word of God is, a doubting heart will render it of no effect in his/her life. For the Word of God to be fulfilled in our lives, our hearts must be in agreement with it, hence, the need for Faith.
In the book titled “As a Man Thinketh, So He Is”, the author asserts Man to be the Master of his thoughts, the Moulder of character, and the Maker (and shaper) of condition, environment, and destiny.
This gives credence to the fact that we have great and precious promises in God, but if a man’s thoughts and his words don’t align with God’s Word, there is little to what God can do in such a life.
Words are formed in our thoughts, so whatever we express through our words is a reflection of our thoughts. This is why we need to be careful how we think.
This means that you have the power to stir the ship of your lives in the right direction. Because you can shape your reality through your word. You can bring into existence what didn’t exist before.
In summary, your thoughts shape your word, your word shapes your world.
We all fail in many areas, but especially with our words. Yet if we’re able to bridle the words we say we are powerful enough to control ourselves in every way, and that means our character is mature and fully developed.
