Path of A Sage

What would you think of a person whose words or calculations don’t add up? I’m sure there are a ton of words that describe such a person.

“Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭26‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

You know, there’s this thing about the human mind being absolutely logical.

Some call it Common Sense and others say it’s an advantage for a human to be logical in and out. In my search to understand what it means to be logical, I found this from an article:

“People with strong Logical Intelligence have an aptitude for mathematical calculations, logical thinking, and pattern recognition. They possess an innate reasoning ability, and they can easily think in logical and numerical patterns as well as make connections between different pieces of information.” – multiplenature.com

Being logical means you have the ability to always tie events or happenings to an existing explanation or solution that’s believable

“Then he spit on the ground, made mud with the saliva, and spread the mud over the blind man’s eyes. He told him, “Go wash yourself in the pool of Siloam” (Siloam means “sent”). So the man went and washed and came back seeing!”

‭‭John‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

Imagine the blind man who had been blind from birth who encountered Jesus and had to stay put for Jesus to mix his spit with mud which was ‘applied’ on his eyes, how could that action have made him feel inside?

Looking at that from a human perspective, it didn’t make sense that a mixture of mud and spit could heal a man of blindness. It’s not logical. But guess what? This is just one out of many actions and instructions carried out in this manner.

“So the people all sat down. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers!”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭9‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

There were about 5,000 men (not including the women plus children) who were gathered in one location, who had followed Jesus back to back and had become hungry; this was a problem that needed to be solved. He got five loaves of bread and two fishes from people who were willing to share, blessed them and then it was distributed around.

To the logical human mind, this isn’t possible. There’s no evidence to explain such an occurrence. Guess what? That’s why it is a miracle. Miracles don’t have natural or human origins neither do they follow scientific or natural laws.

“But Naaman became angry and stalked away. “I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said. “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me! Aren’t the rivers of Damascus, the Abana and the Pharpar, better than any of the rivers of Israel? Why shouldn’t I wash in them and be healed?” So Naaman turned and went away in a rage.”

‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

Then there was the man Naaman, who initially tried to applied logic while a healing miracle was on its way to him, and he would have missed it if he wasn’t a leader who listened to his followers.

There are times when a move of God stirs up in your life but thoughts that align with human reasoning stand in the way and dissuade you. This is why you have to always align your life, thoughts, mindset, beliefs and actions with spiritual reasoning.

Ensure you are always aware of spiritual instructions that need to be obeyed, steps that need to be taken and decisions meant to be made – whether or not they match common sense or logical reasoning. Let your life be led by your spiritual senses.

Remember, His ways are not your ways, neither are His thoughts in the human rationale. This is one of many reasons why He is God. Shalom!
