A while ago, I went through a certain circumstance that had left a deep mark on my heart for months.

For some time, I struggled to understand how someone I trusted so dearly could hide such a different life behind a gentle smile and calm voice. There were no signs — at least none that I noticed at the time.
I often found myself asking, “What if I had married him?”
Looking back now, I can clearly see how God was trying to protect me, even when I didn’t realise it. Similarly, the Enemy rarely comes in a form that’s obvious.
For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
2 Corinthians 11:14 (KJV)
This is why so many fall into relationships that appear godly on the surface but carry destruction beneath. Many young people lose their peace, dignity, and sense of direction because they trusted someone who seemed sincere, yet whose heart was far from God.
Some of us become distracted and lose precious seasons of our lives because we welcomed a wolf disguised as a sheep.
However, even in painful breakups, God still shows mercy. Sometimes the heartbreak we mourn is actually the deliverance we prayed for.
God rescues us from dangers we don’t see with our natural eyes. This is why we must not allow emotions to lead us into any relationships (or anything for that matter). Emotions are beautiful and real, but they are not enough in themselves to lead us and cannot protect us when any calamity strikes.
Instead, we must slow down, observe carefully, ask questions, and listen for the Holy Spirit’s guidance before you get close to anyone or make any big decisions.
You will know them by their fruits.
Matthew 7:16 (KJV)
If we pay attention, people will eventually reveal who they truly are.
May God sharpen our discernment and guard us from deceptive relationships designed to hinder our future. Amen.

This was instructive. Thank you🎊🎉

It’s true: we must be led by God’s Spirit, not by emotions.
Emotions can be fooled, but no one can fool God.
Thank you for this.

The part about emotions is soo real. I pray that God will help us to see things as they are and not be fooled by people’s facade.
Thank you for sharing this.
