Yield to Transformation.

It is important to know that accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and becoming born again does not automatically make a believer immune to sin.

Many believers think that being born again means they’ll no longer crave the desires of the flesh, but this is a misconception.

The problem isn’t that your salvation isn’t genuine, or that there is no power available in Christ Jesus for you to live above Sin. The issue is that your soul is yet to be transformed.

When you get saved as a believer, it is your spirit that is reborn. The nature of God (Righteousness), that is imputed into your spirit, replaces the sinful nature. This spiritual rebirth is called Regeneration.

However, this transformation, although meant for the whole man, initially occurs in your spirit specifically — not your soul, and not your body.

The soul is the seat of your will, intellect, and emotions. Every thought you think, which later translates into your physical, bodily actions, originates there. If your soul hasn’t yet received the influence of your regenerated spirit, it will continue to house carnal (worldly) desires.

This is why you may keep acting in ways that displease God, despite being made right with Him.

This is not meant to be the norm. Salvation is designed to impact your entire being spirit, soul, and body. That means the life of God in your spirit must flow into your soul and eventually affect your bodily nature in appearance and behavior.

The solution?

Deliberately yield your mind (soul) to align to your new nature of Righteousness, through the Word of God.

Transformation is not automatic for anyone; it must be initiated. This means you must intentionally allow God’s word to shape your thought patterns, your actions, and your behaviour.

A believer cannot fully walk in the power of Christ if he/she has not gained control over what flows through his/her soul. Therefore, you must choose to let God’s word be the Standard.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.

Romans 12:2 (KJV)

Let the word of God keep penetrating your heart and mind. Let it mould your thoughts, character, and lifestyle. This is what will enable you live in total accordance with the nature of Righteousness.

In doing so, your entire being — spirit, soul, and body — will begin to reflect the Righteousness of God.
